As an antidote to the lightning pace of the digital universe and the fashion world’s collective on-to-the-next attitude, Marc Jacobs envisioned his collection for Louis Vuitton as an excuse to pause and appreciate what a house like Vuitton is capable of creating. Beautiful bags, such as the fantastic redos of the Vuitton Speedy, were basically guaranteed.

Mark Fast’s show was a highly anticipated event for aw10! The crowd outside the topshop show space to see Fast and Mary Katrantzou’s joint show was unbelievable, and the capacity inside was at an all time high! Having caused a stir at spring/summer 10 collection by using plus-size models on the catwalk the eyes were on this central saint martin’s graduate as to whether it was all just a pretense.

Minimalism with a twist - Max Azria was extremely wearable but full of beautiful details that make you look twice.Paneling was slashed at an angle across loose dresses, draped tops turned around to entirely sheer backs that hung alluringly slightly off the body, legs were tightly leathered, and day-to-night dresses featured strong asymmetry. As a whole this struck me as a collection that you could pick four or five pieces from and be relatively set for any number of days/occasions.

Online interaction played a significant role in the creation of Marc Jacobs's A/W 2010 presentation. Not only did his business partner, Robert Duffy, hop on Twitter a few weeks ago to ask for suggestions on how to open the show, Jacobs was able to reach a global audience via streaming his show live. Both Duffy and Jacobs appeared at the beginning of the show to rip away a curtain of brown paper which housed a block of 56 models ready to take to the runway.
