It’s the Cannes Film Festival, one of the most important red carpets in both the fashion and film industries, and one of the last few places where a woman can go all out with her ball gown. This year did not disappoint. We had gowns of all sorts, from the sparkly (Diane Kruger in Vivienne Westwood and Jane Fonda in Versace), to the slits (Frieda Pinto in Versace), to the voluminous (Salma Hayek in Gucci and Naomi Watts in Marchesa) to the sure things (Kirsten Dunst and Carine Roitfeld at amfAR's closing gala).
