The title was created in 2010 by the then licence holder of the national beauty pageant Miss Great Britain - Liz Fuller - a former Miss GB herself. She'd revolutionised the beauty contest by allowing single mums and divorcees to enter for the first time in the national beauty pageant's history. Charlotte, mother to three year old Bobby, jumped at the opportunity and became the first single mother to take part – coming amongst the top five at the final. Her success had been widely reported in the national press and she was invited as one of the special guests on ITV's Alan Titchmarsh Show.

All the top 12 girls from the  Miss GB 2010 final were entered for the Miss British Model 2011 contest, but the four judges, all from the film, modelling and beauty industries, voted unanimously for Charlotte. She'd impressed them with her strength, ambition, friendly nature and loyalty as well as her outstanding beauty

Charlotte, who besides modelling is also a Taekwondo black belt and a pole dance teacher, was ecstatic to win the title. “ The past year has been an incredible journey for me. After falling pregnant at the age of nineteen, I thought my dreams of being a successful model were shattered and yet in the last twelve months all those dreams have come true. I hope to inspire women to embrace motherhood whilst striving to achieve their dreams of a successful career”

There are many exciting plans for Charlotte over the course of 2011. Soon she'll be flying off to Italy where she'd been invited to stay at the prestigious 5 star Hotel Raito on the romantic Amalfi Coast. She'll be staying there for the first week in May doing photo shoots and interviews and generally enjoying La Dolce Vita!
