Alex Perry for Diva, a look at Australia’s fashion showman doing high street jewellery

He’s often called the ‘couture king’ or ‘showman’ in Australian fashion design (design-wise think Alber Elbaz or Giambattista Valli inspired) but whatever your thoughts are, there is no denying that Alex Perry certainly has his network of high ranking fans in the land down under.
His gowns often retail for over AUD$1,000+ with wedding gowns often custom made for magazine editors and cashed up women, making them practically inaccessible to his legion of young fans.
Well Perry has something for his long suffering and checking-account-less fans – he’s teamed up with Australian high street accessories brand Diva for a fashion accessory line that retails from $9.95 to $29.99 this September 2010. Like his clothing the items have that luxe look and feature delicate fabric; swathes of lace and tulle; brilliant embellishments; pearls, diamante, feathers and a signature butterfly motif.
“I wanted feminine and pretty with an edge of contemporary glamour and the fresh, sexy design that diva is followed for. The idea is to bring clothes to life with beautiful butterflies and pretty strings of beads that drape and adorn any gorgeous gown,” said Perry.
