Michelle Obama showed off her new hairdo at a White House reception for country music stars on Tuesday. The latest issue of People magazine shows the shorter style, with side-swept bangs.

"It's a little bit sassier now. It's a little more summery. A good summer haircut," said Gail Blumenthal, an admirer of Michelle's cut.

Kimble Hair Studio in West Hollywood is where some starlets go for their glam 'dos. Kimble clients include actress Carry Washington, Oscar-nominated actress Taraji P. Henson, Vanessa Williams and Beyonce. But all eyes at the moment are on the White House and the trend-setting first lady.

"I would definitely describe that cut as a longer version of a crop. Very clean, very tapered, very polished," said Jeannie Lawler, Hair Stylist. "And one of our philosophies here at Kimble is 'great hair equals confidence'. And that hairstyle is definitely going to give her a lot of confidence."
