I decided to try it out for myself and signed up for a six session treatment of laser hair removal on my bikini line using the new Pain-Free, Hair-Free Soprano Laser system which uses a CoolTip designed to numb the area. Yes, that's right- my bikini line, that most sensitive of areas (and no, you won't be seeing pictures).

To start with I underwent a patch test at the Courthouse Clinic on Wimpole Street, and had to wait a month to see how I reacted to this. I was given very detailed information about the treatment and was told it was fine to shave, just not to wax of hair remove as that would affect the laser process. I was also told to wear a high SPF on this area- not normally an issue, but it is summer!

The laser uses infrared diode laser energy which is attracted to the pigments in the hair follicle and targets them with light which converts to heat energy in the body, and destroys the follicle so it stops producing hair.. You generally need around six to eight sessions to seer major results (different depending on the client) with a top up every year recommended.worlds fastest and only pain free technology transforming the uncomfortable process of hair removal into an enjoyable one.

The treatment involves lying down the bed, removing jeans, but the knickers get to stay on thankfully (unless you're having it ALL off). The lovely beautician applied a cool gel to the whole area and then ran the laser over it gently, You do feel something- but the sensation is very ,mile, and feels like basking in front of a microwave, rather than the burning pain experienced with my laser skin treatment.

Stray hairs were shaved off (you're told to shave prior treatment) and the whole area took less than 10 minutes to do. Some hair fell out during the process, and it was all wiped away with some cooling gel applied to soothe the slightly red area.
