Long, Layered Locks: Sarah Jessica Parker

If your hair is fine, add long, blended layers and keep the length above your breast line to maintain volume and body. For hair that is thick and curly, go the Sarah Jessica Parker route and "ask for face-framing layers that start at your collarbone and long, simple ones throughout," advises stylist Adir Abergel of Frédéric Fekkai. If your face is heart shaped, wearing bangs can really open it up. "Cut them straight across, not angled," says Abergel.

Top Color Tips for Longer Hair: Kerry Washington

"Keeping the look of color fluid through long hair is tough," says Kim Vo, colorist and owner of the Beverly Hills salon Kim Vo at the Montage. "To prevent your hair from looking like a wig, roots shouldn't be the same shade as your ends."

"For natural-looking highlights, have your stylist use the balliage technique," instructs Vo, referring to a method of hand painting sections of your hair. "This looks great when hair grows out a bit, so you can really go a few weeks longer between visits to your colorist."

Modern Evening Look for Longer Hair: Kate Hudson

Kate Hudson's loose braid is glamorous, sexy, and easy to re-create. Blow-dry the top of your hair with a round brush, directing it backward, then finish by scrunching the ends to give it natural texture. Before you pull everything back, spray on Rene Furterer Naturia Dry Shampoo ($24) to give hair body and to add traction when you braid it.

Pixie Cut Secrets: Victoria Beckham

"Victoria Beckham's top is a bit longer, but the shape is simple with graduated layers," says Domi. Abergel adds, "Keep bangs choppy so they can move in any direction."
