“They’re coming from as far away as Pennsylvania, and a couple from New Jersey,” said David Rosen, spokesman for the school. “They’re not only sold out, but there’s a substantial waiting list.”



Brown, who started her eponymous cosmetics company in 1991 with 10 earth-toned lipsticks, offers a smaller version of the program at Montclair State University in New Jersey where she lives, but considers the Emerson program a precursor to a national model of Bobbi Brown universities.

“We’re just going to roll it out,” said Brown, who hopes to open schools in such major American markets as New York and Los Angeles as well as China, Japan and the United Kingdom.
