Finally- and long overdue- this season will see the launch of a ‘menswear day’ at London Fashion Week. Taking place later this month, thirteen of the capital’s most intriguing and astonishing menswear designers will come together under the guidance of MAN and Fashion East for a mix of catwalk, film and events.

James Long S/S 09

The MAN show itself kicks things off with last year’s triumphs Christopher Shannon, James Long and BUCK favourite J.W. Anderson joining the ever-wonderful Topman Design. Always a treat, MAN has become one of London Fashion Week’s highlights, bringing in journalists from around the world to stand around with amazingly dressed dandies, club kids and hangers on- most likely in a massive underground carpark. Anything can, and will happen, and that’s the way it should be.

Afterwards, Katie Eary- a recent RCA graduate whose work has already featured in the pages of Vogue- will present alongside the promising Jaiden rVa James and Martine Rose. Eary’s work is some of the most exciting to have come from the 2008 graduate shows, with a refreshingly magpie-like aesthetic and the rare sense that she’s having enormous fun doing what she does.
