Seventeen years after they first strutted down the catwalk for Versace, Linda Evangelista, Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell and Christy Turlington are once again striking poses for top designers and magazines.

At 43 and a mother of one, Evangelista is the face of Prada's autumn/winter campaign, replacing 23-year-old Russian model Sasha Pivovarova.

Turlington, 39 and a mother of two, has shot new campaigns for Chanel and Escada.

Crawford, 42, was a recent cover girl for Vogue Russia - her first glossy magazine cover in years.

And despite her headline-making tantrums, Campbell, 38, is still a designer favourite, with Louis Vuitton and the late Yves Saint Laurent featuring her in recent campaigns.

Harper's Bazaar editor Jamie Huckbody described the resurgence of the original supermodels as wonderful.
