Not being able to find it, she started designing and creating suits for herself and her friends. They became so popular that she launched her first collection of junior/woman swimwear in 1997, calling it Honey Girl. Three years later the birth of her daughter inspired her to launch her first children's swimwear collection, Little Honeys, with styles for girls up to 14.

Today, Honey Girl can be found in more than 100 of the best surf and swim shops throughout Hawaii, the U.S. East and West coasts, Canada, Australia, Japan and the Caribbean.

Her newest collection will be presented during noon fashion shows Saturday and Sunday, part of the New Baby Expo taking place at the Neal Blaisdell Center Exhibition Hall.

Honey Girl babies and toddlers will model the latest casual and swimwear fashions on the main stage.

The expo itself runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days, with more than 150 vendors showing their infant-oriented products for new and hapai parents.

Other main attractions are:

» Jamba Juice Baby Crawling Contest: 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

» Circle Time with "My Gym": Kids 6 weeks to 6 years old can participate in a song, dance and exercise program, 11 a.m. Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday.
