Beauty Vision, the first-of-its-kind international trade fair for
cosmetics, hair, packaging, pharmaceuticals, wellbeing & spas, is
set to spruce up the $2 billion-worth cosmetic and toiletry sector in
the Middle East.
The exhibition, to be launched early next year,
will bring together hundreds of companies and showcasing thousands of
brands from around the globe. Beauty Vision will be held at the
purpose-built Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) between
February 3 and 5, 2009.
According to official statistics, the
sales of cosmetics and perfumes across the Middle East touched $2.1
billion last year with unparalleled growth trends. The sector is one of
the fastest growing industries in the world, with growth rates of 19
per cent regionally for 2007. In the UAE alone, the cosmetics and
personal care industry is valued at over $414 million in 2006,
according to Euromonitor International.
Channels Exhibitions,
organisers of the show, said Beauty Vision will bring together both
regional and international suppliers on a common platform in Abu Dhabi
- the leading world capital for business, economy, culture and tourism.
Abu
Dhabi provides an unmatched location for strategic interaction between
buyers, suppliers, importers and exporters at Beauty Vision, providing
an annual shop window and unique networking opportunity for key buyers
and influencers from the whole of GCC, Asia, North Africa, for CIS
states and the Indian subcontinent.
Mr Justin Boutros, Managing
Director of Channels Exhibitions, said: "Beauty Vision 2009 is unlike
any other exhibition. It is a truly unique show which represents the
buoyant trend in the regional cosmetic and toiletries sector. With the
annual sales in the sector in excess of $2 billion, the show in Abu
Dhabi will provide the right platform to serve the hugely dynamic
region and burgeoning cosmetics market. Given the fact that nearly 50
per cent of the region's population is younger than 20 and 60 per cent
are younger than 25 years, statistics prove that there is an inherent
growing market for cosmetics sector."
He added: "What
distinguishes Beauty Vision is that the exhibition is the fusion of
five concepts in one show. This exhibition, at the regional style
capital and nerve centre of economic development, will help bridge the
gap between the suppliers and the inherent potential in the region and
serve as the launch platform for many products and services. Abu Dhabi
is a geographical gateway to the rest of the Middle East and also the
fastest growing regions worldwide of Asia, Africa and Europe. This is
an opportunity to tap into a collective population of over 3.2 billion
people and a collective GDP of over US$ 18 trillion."
The
organisers have offered the participating exhibitors a unique Beauty
Vision experience -- Vision Match, Vision Concierge and Vision Lounge.
As part of the Vision Match experience, Channels Exhibitions will send
every pre-registered visitor a personalized list of products and
services, reports and schedules of meetings during the three-day show.
The
Vision Concierge experience offers a personalized, branded and secure
pre-registration website to the exhibiting companies for registering
their clients. The Vision Lounge, a new VIP lounge at the show, will
host select buyers nominated by exhibitors and will offer a host of
exclusive facilities for buyers and participants.
"Beauty Vision
is unique because of its internationalization, segments and features
and its determination to provide better services for both its visitors
and exhibitors. The exhibition will no longer rely on traditional
strategy but will look to raise standards in terms of return on
investment and "time value" whilst spent visiting the exhibition. With
the support of our global partners and of course the federal government
of the United Arab Emirates, we are convinced that Beauty Vision will
become one of the world's leading annual meeting places for the
industries to converge," said Christopher Hudson, General Manager of
Channels Exhibitions.
Beauty Vision will also play host to a
variety of hair shows, catwalks for brides and other in-show
interactive attractions. Spa Talk at the exhibition will organise
workshops and seminars related to the latest trends and designs in
creating a vibrant spa environment.
Abu Dhabi, the cultural,
style, economic and political heart of UAE, is firmly establishing
itself as one of the world's leading economic centres and providing a
consistently fertile environment for investments. Dubbed as the world's
richest city by CNN Fortune, Abu Dhabi is also establishing itself as
the cultural and style hub.
