The Salon International de la Lingerie (International Intimate Clothing Fair) that is being held in Paris’ Versalles from January 24 to 27, has gathered designers, manufacturers, as well as consumers from that area of the fashion industry. The designers will display their collections for autumn/winter 2008/2009.
During the first day, a fashion show called “Ultra Modernity” was held, at which labels and designers presented their innovative haute couture underwear. Creations with a view to the future were presented, that lead to unexpected directions, and surprise with the materials that they are made from.
The neo-futuristic style expresses itself with motifs that were added on unusual materials with shiny details: leather and lace, sprinkled with crystals. The urban and sexy-chic underwear risks being trashy. The new cuts that lead to new directions are eycatching.
The underwear is not constituted in the spirit of renewal: a mould of crinoline, corset etc. With this, some new volumes are born, and it is as if they mathematically cooperate with the body, changing its proportions.
