Bright colors are popping up in all types of accessories including shoes, handbags, and jewelry.

Dawn Yanek, editor at large of Life&Style Weekly magazine, stopped by The Saturday Early Show with plenty of examples selected by Life & Style editors, and with and two models showing how the accessories can help your look.

How bright is bright? Yanek says we're talking a lot of Crayola colors here, primarily yellows, blues and reds, kelly green, and hot pink. Let's just say these colors won't get lost in the crowd!

This is a really fun look and, believe it or not, everybody can wear it.

The great thing about an accessory trend is that you don't need to invest a lot of money to look stylish.

What Yanek likes about this trend in particular is that, even if it's not as hot next year, nobody is going to say, "Oh, that green bangle bracelet is sooooo last season!" Color never really goes out of style. Another bonus: You can start wearing these colors now and keep wearing them the rest of the year.

Some people might look at these accessories and immediately assume they're just for young people, but Yanek begs to differ. She points out that we're seeing a lot of high-end items in these colors, too (a $495 purse, $700 watches), which means designers have older women in mind. How many 16=year-olds do you know who can afford a $500 handbag?! However, if you're really concerned about this, she suggests staying away from hot pinks and yellows, which tend to "skew younger."

Yanek says the easiest way to incorporate the trend into your wardrobe is with a pair of shoes or a handbag. Both of these items provide big splashes of color, but don't come off as over-the-top.

Purses are coming in all shapes and sizes; there's not one predominant trend this season.

In shoes, we're seeing heels, wedges and flats, but all have rounded toes. Round toes and peep toes remain big, according to Yanek.

She also brought along a wide variety of bracelets, necklaces, earrings and watches.

A word of caution if you want to buy colorful jewelry: Be choosy, because some of the pieces can wind up looking a bit tacky. Also, less is more here: Don't try to combine several pieces of colorful jewelry.

But those aren't the only brightly-colored accessories out there: Yanek also showed belts, headbands, sunglasses and scarves.

The point here is that basically any accessory you might want or need this season comes in a fun color, so don't be afraid to experiment!

A couple of basic rules to keep in mind when you wear these bright accessories:

  • Don't go over the top: It's usually best to wear no more than two or three bright colors at once. If you have true fashion sense, you'll know if you can pull of more. Yanek particularly likes pairing green and purple, yellow and blue.

  • Avoid a "matchy-matchy" look: Don't pair bright green shoes with a green belt, green purse and green jewelry. Mix it up some.
